January 3, 2022Genacross Lutheran Services Sells its Toledo Campus
Genacross Lutheran Services announces the sale of its Genacross Lutheran Services-Toledo Campus. Located at 131 N. Wheeling Street on the border of east Toledo and Oregon, the Toledo Campus has provided long-term care, assisted living, and short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation services.
“We have been honored to serve the east Toledo and Oregon communities for many years,” said Rick Marshall, Genacross President/CEO. “We are grateful for the thousands of people who have chosen the Toledo Campus for their care and for the dedicated employees who have worked there.”
Majestic Care will be the new owner/operator. Based in Westfield, Indiana, Majestic Care has numerous skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio. As part of the sale, employees of the Toledo Campus will transition to Majestic Care.
“I am confident that we have found a new owner/operator who will ensure that the Toledo Campus will continue to serve those in need on the east side of Toledo for years to come,” Mr. Marshall said. “Majestic Care has the financial resources and industry expertise to make it happen.”
The fact that Majestic Care has a strong history of investment in facilities they have purchased is one of the main reasons Genacross selected them as the new owner. The historic Toledo Campus, which opened in 1953 and has been expanded and renovated many times, is in need of significant capital improvements that Genacross has been unable to fund.
Genacross Lutheran Services continues to meet the needs of individuals on the east side of Toledo in multiple ways. Its independent living communities (Luther Grove, Luther Hills, and Luther Ridge) provide affordable housing to seniors with limited incomes. In addition, Genacross Family & Youth Services operates several group homes in the area that serve at-risk youth. Genacross at Home will also continue to provide home health care to patients in the comfort of their own homes.
