Lutheran Homes Society (LHS) announces the appointment of Thomas Grubs as Executive Director for Lutheran Home at Toledo, a care community located at 131 N. Wheeling Street.
As Executive Director, Mr. Grubs will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, community outreach, and business development of the LHS Toledo campus. The campus provides assisted living, short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation, long-term nursing care, outpatient therapy, and respite care.
Mr. Grubs served as the interim administrator of the Toledo campus before accepting the Executive Director position, and he was also the Associate Executive Director at Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek for a short time. Prior to joining LHS in 2015, he was Executive Director at Arbors of Clyde.
Mr. Grubs is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the state of Ohio. He has worked in long-term care for four years. Being a nursing home administrator is a second career for Mr. Grubs, who spent 30 years managing and developing a variety of commercial and residential real estate development and construction projects.
“We are excited about the experience and leadership that Tom brings to Lutheran Home at Toledo,” stated Jeff Rohdy, LHS Regional Executive Director for Long-Term Care Services. “His experience in construction will be very beneficial during the upcoming renovations of the Toledo campus’ nursing care center.”
Mr. Grubs earned his bachelor’s degree in environmental relations from The Ohio State University. He resides in Temperance, Michigan, with his wife Cindy, who is a hospital liaison for Lutheran Homes Society.
“One thing missing in my previous career was the opportunity to have a very personal impact on people’s lives,” Mr. Grubs stated. “I chose to transition into nursing home administration so that I can help people, as well as continue to manage systems and processes. I appreciate the opportunity to work with the great Lutheran Home at Toledo team.”
